PRESTWICK airport's New Zealand owners have warned that making more money
from passengers remains a "key challenge" after such income remained flat
for a third year even though passenger numbers soared by 20 per cent.
Infratil's annual report for the year to March showed Prestwick's net
income from services such as retail and parking unchanged at £2.50 per
passenger, while the total passengers rose to 2.4 million from two million
in 2003-4.
Freight volumes were down for a fourth successive year, to 28,176 tonnes,
but overall earnings before interest, tax and depreciation were up from
£3.8 million to £4.3m.
